The Falmouth Public Library will screen the documentary One Big Home on June 22 at 3pm. This film takes a look at mansionization-a trend toward the construction and infill of huge houses. One Big Home showcases a community driven toward sustainable zoning and planning. Filmed over the course of 12 years on the island of Martha's Vineyard, One Big Home highlights the power of local organizing to promote conservation and to preserve a community's historic sense of place.
Directed by Thomas Bena; Produced and edited by James Holland; Edited by Liz Witham and Jim Cricchi; Cinematography by Liz Witham and Jeremy Mayhew; Music composed by Paul Brill.
“ONE BIG HOME is a remarkably moderate, grown up piece of work which really stands out in the current climate and will give US cinemagoers something refreshingly different to engage with.”— Jennier Kermode, Eye For Film (UK)
