Plastic Paradise: The Great Pacific Garbage Patch is a film that takes you thousands of miles away from civilization to the Midway Atoll - one of the most remote places on earth. And yet it has become ground zero for the Great Pacific Garbage Patch, siphoning plastics from three distant continents.

In this independent documentary film, journalist/filmmaker Angela Sun travels on a personal journey of discovery to uncover this mysterious phenomenon. Along the way, meet the scientists, researchers, influencers and volunteers who shed light on the effects of our plastic consumption and learns the problem is more insidious than you could imagine.

The Environmental Defenders helps educate the public on environmental issues through our quarterly documentary film series.

The event is co-sponsored by The Environmental Defenders’ Education Committee and MCC’s Sustainability Center.
